In 1966 the author Truman Capote threw a masked ball at New York’s Plaza Hotel. The legendary Black and White Ball became known as the Party of the Century. Over fifty years later and much is still written about the success of the event. The evening survives on film and is the inspiration for the 2022 OLA Gala.

Capote inscribed in a diary the motto he retained for the rest of his life: I Aspire. We aspire through our beliefs, to inspire our children to positively affect society through their actions and ideals. Together we can all aspire to support our school, enrich our children’s Catholic education and build our community.

The Aspire Masquerade Gala seeks to reimagine Truman Capote's Black and White Ball and remember his words, I Aspire.
